The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 07/16/2016, at approximately 8:17pm multiple burglaries to Semi Trucks occurred on the lot of 1555 E. Hubbard Ave., (Clifton Moving).  An unknown light skinned, Black male suspect forced entry to the Semi Trucks and took several items.  The  suspect was wearing a White sleeveless shirt, shorts and sandals.  Also, the suspect was riding a bicycle at the time of the burglaries.

News Release 05/23/16

On 05/21/16, at 8:00am it was reported that a Burglary to Motor Vehicle occurred, in the area of 2100 N. Graceland Ave.  This burglary occurred sometime between the hours of 11:00pm, on 05/20/16 and 8:00am on 05/21/16. An unknown suspect or suspects forced entry to the vehicle and removed electronic items.

News Release 03/24/16

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 03/23/16, at approximately 10:30 AM., an Armed Robbery occurred in the 700 block of West King St.  The suspect a White male dressed in all Black, wearing a Black Ski Mask approached a female victim walking West on the North side of the sidewalk.  The suspect was described as having Hazel eyes, 20-30 years of age, 130-140 pounds and approximately 5’03 in height.  The White male had a Black handgun and took money from the victim.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot, Northbound on the west side of 732 W. King St.

News Release 02/23/16

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 02/18/16, at approximately 07:55 pm., a Home Invasion occurred in the 1300 block of East Condit St.   Three young Black males possibly in their teens, forced entry to a residence and battered a disabled elderly male.  One of the suspects held a gun on the elderly male, while one of the other suspects removed items from the residence.  The third suspect acted as a lookout.  The suspects then fled the residence in an unknown direction on foot.

News Release 01/16/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 01/13/16, at approximately 11:38 pm., an Armed Robbery occurred at 1597 N. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr., at the MLK Last Stop.   Two male suspects of unknown race entered the store wearing all Black clothing, masks and Black gloves.  Both suspects were wearing White and Pink rimmed sunglasses.  One of the suspects was armed with a Silver revolver.  The other suspect was armed with a Silver semi-automatic pistol.  One of the suspects battered and shot a cashier, while removing cash from the register inside the business.  The suspects then fled the business in an unknown direction on foot.

News Release 12/14/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 11/29/15, sometime between 9:30pm and midnight, a burglary occurred at 888 W. Eldorado St.  The building that was burglarized was being used by the New Vision Church of God to provide gifts on Christmas, to needy children in the area.  The suspect stole a number of items including costume jewelry, stuffed animals and heat lamps used for cooking.

News Release 11/24/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 11/20/15, at approximately 2:04 a.m., a robbery occurred at Circle K, 1089 W. Eldorado St.   The suspect a Black male described as approximately 25 years of age, 5’10, 180 lbs entered the store on the North side of the business.   The suspect then pointed a dark in color handgun at the clerk and ordered the clerk to surrender money and cigarettes.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot, in an unknown direction.

News Release 10/09/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On 10/09/15, at approximately 8:00 p.m. a robbery occurred in the 300 block of South 16th St.  The victim was walking on the sidewalk when an older Red Ford pick-up occupied by two Black males, pulled up to the victim and demanded money.  The Black males then exited the vehicle and tackled the victim to the ground causing injury to the victim.  The suspects then got back into the pick-up and fled the scene North, on 16th St.  The suspects were described as 40 years of age, 5’09, 200 pds.  One of the Black male suspects, had long Black dreads in his hair and the other had short Black hair.

News Release 09/24/15

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

The City of Decatur has had multiple thefts of gutters and copper downspouts, from houses and buildings throughout the city.  The suspects are described as a Black male, 18-22 yoa, thin build with Black hair dyed orange on the ends, and a White male, 18-22 yoa, medium build with short Blonde wavy hair.   If you witness anyone suspicious that you believe should not be removing gutters, down spouts or siding from a residence or building please contact the Decatur Police Department immediately.
