The Decatur Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

At approximately 1:40am on October 21st, two unknown black males committed a home invasion at a residence in the 1800 block of E. Winnetka.  Both victims were approached by these two black males as soon as they arrived home after pulling their vehicle into their garage.  At least one of the black males was armed with a handgun.  At least three gunshots were fired during this incident.

Suspect #1 is described as a very light skinned black male in his 20’s, 505/thin build, wearing a light colored hoodie armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as a darker skinned black male in his 20’s, slightly taller than suspect #1, thin build and wearing all dark colored clothing.

Between 8:00pm on September 20^th and 11:30am on September 21st, unknown person(s) damaged the concrete “Infinity Cross” statue located in Niantic Park at 187 E. Lewis.  It appears unknown person(s) used bodily force to bend the top of the statue causing the concrete to break away from the rebar supports.  The statue is valued at $600.00.  At this time there are no suspect(s).

On September 8^th at approximately 11:45 am, an armed robbery occurred at Domino’s Pizza located at 1948 E. Eldorado. A Domino’s Pizza employee reported… a black male, 500-505, thin build, wearing all dark clothing, a dark colored ball cap and a white colored bandanna covering his hand and face, jumped the counter and pointed his bandanna covered hand at the employee implying he had a weapon. The employee reported handing over an amount of U.S. Currency, at which time the suspect fled the business.  A witness observed the suspect prior to entering Domino’s Pizza.  The witness reported the suspect as having short hair, clean shaven, 505, thin build and approximately 25-30 years of age.

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

Sometime between 7:00pm on July 31^st  and 7:30am on August 1^st , unknown subject(s) burglarized Contractors Recycle located at 2990 N. Woodford St.  Suspect(s) used a prying tool to pry open a metal wall on the east side of the tool shop to gain entry.  Once inside, suspect(s) stole numerous miscellaneous power and hand tools.  There are no suspect(s) at this time.

Sometime between 8:00pm on June 25^th and 6:15pm on June 26^th, unknown subject(s) burglarized Bethel Tabernacle Church located at 1110 E. Curtis Ave.  Suspect(s) used a prying tool to pry open the northeast door to gain entry.  Once inside, suspect(s) stole a Peavy, amplified speaker and a small amount of US Currency.  There are no suspect(s) at this time.

News Release 6/30/14

The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week.

On June 26^th at approximately 8:00 AM, a home invasion occurred at a residence in the 900 block of N. Folk St.  The victims were held at gunpoint and tied up inside the residence.  The suspects stole the victim’s 2002 red colored Ford Mustang, bearing IL registration, P419191, which has been recovered.    They also stole cell phones and a Sony Playstation.

The victims described the suspects as both being black males, 601/thin builds.  The victims advised the suspects had coverings over their faces.

Sometime between midnight on April 23^rd and 3:40pm on April 26^th, unknown subject(s) forced entry to a door on the northwest side of Sunnyside Church of Christ, located at 821 N. Sunnyside Rd.  Once inside, subject(s) stole a Vizio DVD blu-ray player and a digital tuner.  There are no suspect(s) at this time.
